World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The feature of upgrading items allows players to upgrade their equipment. This can be done at any item upgrade r NPC.
Generally item upgrades increase an items main stat and can give it extras depending on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link protected from injury in all situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in various ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to protect animals or people from injury or harm, whether it's from a direct physical attack or from a variety of environmental or activity hazards. Historically, armour was mostly made from fabric or leather however later, metal protections were also used, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
Like weapons, there are a number of ways in which armor can be upgraded but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection and needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever and once they've been installed, they cannot be replaced unless there is another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the most advanced upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have all the components needed to complete the process.
When it comes to acquiring the upgrade components needed to upgrade your character, they are available all over Hyrule including shrines, shops as well as enemies. They are typically marked by the blue triangle or gold circle symbol. They can be found in great numbers as you progress. They can appear randomly, however there is a chance that obtaining certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It is also important to note that, even though the level of protection provided by each upgrade differs however, it's the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that will protect against all types of attacks, except magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns unique, you can enhance them with a variety of special upgrades. These upgrades can increase the damage or change the stats of the weapon to match your build. They also allow new attachments such as unique enchantments, different types of ammo, and aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon has to be at or near a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only accept a single upgrade.
You can find weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the world and from the hands of enemies, or they can be purchased from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are made up of components that can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or additional effect while they're in use. The equipment must be a certain level to accept the upgrade. It is able to be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to improve the power of weapons and improve their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They can also be dropped by combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your shoulders, chest, hands, and feet when you are planning to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. But, depending on your playstyle, some items will be more useful than others. Armour is not any different, with some refining better than others.

Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic. If an upgrade project is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but can have other benefits.
A magical item can be any item that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, however some include armor, shields, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other items. Some of these items are telepathic.
Most magical items can be upgraded to become infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful to a player, or it can help them overcome any difficult situation. Infused weapons can offer bonuses to damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is particularly useful for characters who have reached the level that they're likely to encounter a particular type of monster repeatedly in the dungeons.
A ring that is infused can grant protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is especially useful for melee martial characters or anyone who wants to avoid purchasing a shield.
Certain items with enchanted properties have special powers which allow the character to cast spells in addition to the ones on their class's spell list. This is useful for a character who has trouble maintaining their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell is determined by rolling an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points used.
Other enchanted objects might allow the player's appearance to be altered or create a completely new one. These items are especially useful for characters who were forced to leave their home or are in a place where they may not be accepted. A magical item could provide them with an invisibility effect, or even make them invisible to everyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are anything that isn't part of the categories of clothing or armor and have a variety of capabilities. Utility items aren't compatible with each other, unlike weapons or armor. The majority of utility items have a passive effect which players can activate while using them. However, some of them have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button or triggering a skill.
The Flashlight is the most common accessory. It illuminates the surrounding area. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while they move, and the Jetpack, which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. A variety of utilitarian items can be quickly manufactured in the Engineering section, while others are unlockable through research projects or experimental projects at the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the ones they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
The majority of utilitarian items give players an advantage in navigation or boost the ability to fight. For instance, sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman increase the power of concentration and healing. Other useful items like Writs and Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be utilized to give the player either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip one utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available after the completion of certain engineering, research, or experiments on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows the player to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
